Adam Hanieh

Adam Hanieh, a Palestinian-Australian, is a senior lecturer in SOAS. He lived in the West Bank town of Ramallah for several years. He was a researcher and human rights worker in Ramallah. He was the research and international advocacy coordinator for defense for Children International/Palestine Section, a Palestinian child rights nongovernment organization based in Ramallah since 1992. He was also a member of the Palestinian human rights organisation Addameer ("conscience")

A former Birzeit University webmaster (1998-2000), he was (2002) working as a consultant for the United Nations Development Program while completing a Masters Degree in Regional Studies at Al Quds University, Jerusalem.
