Meir Pa'il (1926-) witnessed the massacre at Deir Yassin in April 1948.

Pa'il was born in Jerusalem. His family moved to Holon in 1936 when he was ten years old. He joined the Palmach in 1943 after graduating from high school

He is a retired professor of military history, a former Knesset member and a former military officer. He is a former head of the Officers Training School of the Israeli Defence Forces
