Jonathan Marcus

Note: this biography may be incomplete or out of date. Extension/update suggestions are welcome.

Jonathan Marcus was the BBC's Defense correspondent and is (2012) one of the BBC's diplomatic correspondents.

Marcus has written some horrid articles which were Israeli-centric. Media Lens analyzes one of his article dealing with the assassinations on the Mavi Marmara, where Marcus wrote that Israel had a tough PR problem – never mind the nine activists assassinated. In February 2012, Marcus wrote about the way Israel would strike Iran, and dwelled on the mechanics of such an attack. That article took it for granted that Israel had the right to destroy a major industry in Iran. Never mind the fact that key US officers admit that in 2012 Iran doesn’t have a nuclear weapons program.
