He was the father of Ze'ev Segal who wrote that he remembered his father telling his mother in the 1950s that he had been offered a post as a district court judge, but that the offer was conditional on his leaving the Liberal Party, to which he belonged, and joining Mapai, the ruling party of the time[1].
