Joseph Brainin

Joseph Brainin (1895-1970), born in Vienna, ... attended schools and universities in Berlin, Geneva, Liege and Montreal. He joined the Jewish Legion in 1918 and served as recruiting officer until departure for military training in Palestine with Palestinian battalion; rank caporal. On demobilization, he made it home in the United States; married Salomea Newmark. Was vice-president of the American committee for the Weizman Institute; also publicist and journalist.

Reuben Brainin was his father.
