Gaza’s Ark project

Note: this biography may be incomplete or out of date. Extension/update suggestions are welcome.

The Gaza's Ark project is (2013) the latest plan to try to break the illegal/immoral siege of Gaza. The project aims to refurbish an fishing boat, fill it with Gazan products (date products, embroidery, craft items and more) and sail to another Mediterranean port, like any normal exporter.

The project is a joint initiative by Palestinians in Gaza (including individuals from the Palestine Sailing Federation and the Fishermen's Solidarity Campaign), and international solidarity activists, including Free Gaza Australia, the Canadian Boat to Gaza, and Americans affiliated with the organizing committees for the US Boat to Gaza and the Gaza Freedom March. Gaza's Ark is part of the ongoing international Freedom Flotilla Coalition challenging the illegal and inhumane Israeli blockade of Gaza.

Michael Coleman is one of the organizers.
