David Miranda

David Michael Dos Santos Miranda (1985-), a Brazilian, is the partner of Glenn Greenwald who writes for the Guardian. Miranda detained in Heathrow Airport for 9 hours on 18 August 2013 precisely because of his relationship with Greenwald, in a move that appears to have been coordinated with the US and connected to their attempt to deal with the case of Edward Snowden.
