Ze'ev Smilansky, a mathematician who works (2009) in the Israeli high-tech sector, is the owner of the Meishar winery in the moshav of Meishar in the southern coastal plain near Gedera.

He is the younger son of Yizhar Smilansky and is named after his grandfather. He moved to Moshav Meishar with his father in the early 1990s, living next door to him, "after they were forced to sell the old and beloved family home in Rehovot"[1].
