Joseph Lishansky (1890-1917) and Avshalom Feinberg, members NILI (Netzah Israel Lo Y'Shaker), a group of Zionist settlers in Palestine who were spying for the British, were found by Bedouins in the Nabi Rubin dunes on 20 October 1917 (other sources say near El Arish), and Feinberg was killed. Joseph Lishansky and Na'aman Belkind were executed by the Ottomans on December 16, 1917.
