Ruth Dayan (1917-) ... born in Ottoman Palestine, moved to London with her parents, returning to Palestine in 1929 ... first wife of Moshe Dayan - they divorced in 1971 after 36 years of marriage ... Yitzhak Schwartz was her father and her mother, Rachel Schwartz, a secular Jew[1], was one of the Elyashar family. Her sister, Reuma Schwartz, married Ezer Weizman, a future president of Israel and nephew of its first President, Chaim Weizmann.

She was the mother of Yael Dayan, Udi Dayan and Asaf Dayan
