See this photograph of David Ben-Gurion meeting D F Malan in Tel Aviv. WikiCommons gives the date of the photograph as 15 June 1953 and the 1954 American Jewish Year Book also says that the visit happened in June 1953, but according to this book the visit took place in September, not June.
