Event #791 Arrest of Israel Beer
Date: Mar 1961
In March 1961, Israel Beer, a high-ranking member of David Ben Gurion's ministry of defense, was arrested by the Israeli Secret Service and accused of treason for having passed Israeli secrets to Soviet agents. In June, at a closed trial, he was found guilty of spying for the Soviet Union.
