Le Monde Diplomatique

Le Monde Diplomatique (LMD) is a French monthly magazine dealing with current affairs; and a general Left analysis and reporting. The on-line edition is published in English as well as in French... and 33 other languages.

Although LMD shares the name "Le Monde" with the newspaper it separated many years ago. LMD was bought out by the syndicate of journalists running the magazine together with help from the many "Les amis de LMD" which are scattered all over France. These groups raised funds to enable the LMD journalists to become independent. Today LMD is one of the most important publications in Europe. LMD's translation into Arabic which is then inserted in many newspapers in the Middle East reaches millions of readers, and thus the magazine has a broad reach.
